As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, we are dedicated to supporting individuals who are battling cancer. Our primary goal is to assist underserved communities in Georgia by advocating for improved access to medical resources and services. We aim to provide emotional and spiritual support to patients throughout their journey, from diagnosis to survivorship or end of life. Join us in our mission to offer assistance and inspire hope to those in need.


OUR MISSION

We aim to remove barriers that impede access to essential resources for early cancer detection. We are committed to ensuring that everyone, especially the underserved or uninsured, has access to optimal treatment and high-quality care needed to improve cancer survival rates.



PREVENTION

We promote and support initiatives that enhance education and policies aimed at reducing cancer diagnoses and preventable deaths.


ACCESS

We strive to improve access to essential healthcare services, such as cancer prevention, early detection screenings, and available resources.


DISPARITIES

Our mission is to break down barriers that impede individuals' access to health and wellness, particularly those who are underserved. We strive to make our services equitable to all.


PERSONAL SERVICES & PROGRAMS

- Offer wigs and aesthetic services, including makeovers.

- Partner in food and nutrition programs.

- Assist with temporary lodging for patients.

- Provide transportation for doctor and hospital visits.

- Supply prescription medications and medical supplies.

- Help with utility assistance program enrollment.

- Provide housekeeping and cleaning services.

- Assist with lawn care, pet care, and light home maintenance.


SPIRITUAL & EMOTIONAL SUPPORT

  • Support hotline for cancer patients. Individual counseling for caregivers and family members. Emotional and spiritual support services available as needed.

A powerful network

Our organization boasts a robust and dependable network of over 189 active members. Furthermore, we cultivate connections with nearby hospitals and clinics to reach women who are at risk for Breast and Gynecologic cancers. This enables us to advocate for the local community and work closely with those we serve to provide the best possible care.

PATIENT ADVOCACY

Our mission is multi-faceted and involves tackling legislative and regulatory issues at the local, state, and national level. Additionally, we provide support to individuals living with cancer, promote public awareness of the disease, and strive to enhance the quality of cancer care.

EARLY DETECTION PROGRAMS

Our services extend beyond providing assistance for mammograms and diagnostic screenings. We also offer treatment support and medication provisions for uninsured and underserved individuals throughout Georgia. Our streamlined approach enables us to bridge gaps in care without bureaucratic delays.

SUPPORT & COUNSELING

We understand that this is a difficult time, which is why we are committed to being there for you as a trusted friend. You can rely on us to help meet the patient's essential needs and provide a ray of hope during this dark period.

CAREGIVER ALLIANCES

Being a caregiver is an incredible act of self-sacrifice that you give to your loved ones. Our services are designed to ease the challenges and burdens that caregivers face on a daily basis. We provide telephone counseling and prayer sessions, as well as "ME TIME" programs and events to give caregivers the time and space they need to care for themselves.

MEET THE FOUNDER & CEO

LaRue C. Parker

Founder & Chief Executive Officer

LaRue Parker is an extraordinary woman who has devoted her life to supporting women facing breast and gynecologic cancer. As the founder and CEO of The Breast of Times Foundation, she leads an organization dedicated to assisting uninsured women battling cancer.


LaRue's journey to helping others began after her own experience with breast and uterine cancer. She recognized that many women were struggling with the disease and lacked access to vital resources and support because of their financial status. Motivated by this realization, she took the initiative to established The Breast of Times Foundation.


The Foundation offers a comprehensive array of services, including providing free mammograms, financial aid, emotional support, and educational resources. LaRue and her dedicated team work relentlessly to ensure that every woman seeking assistance receives the necessary care and support they deserve.


Thanks to LaRue's unwavering commitment and hard work, The Breast of Times Foundation has positively impacted the lives of countless women over the years. Her dedication to making a difference for those affected by breast and gynecologic cancer is truly inspiring, showcasing the immense power of compassion and perseverance.
